New House Day

I bought a house this morning. I didn't say anything about it here so as not to jinx the deal, but now the keys are mine, the gag is off and the champagne room is open.

Beetsolonely's spacious new North American headquarters are a little ways north of our current location in the neighborhood known as Wooten or "The Woo," as I plan to call it. I would've considered this area North Austin when I moved to town in 1987, but I'm still south of 183, which is positively central these days.

If future posts are a little slow in coming, blame the damn lawn.

Congrats on the house! That's still a good area.

Welcome to the Woo! It's not a bad area and it's getting better.

Yay! Congratulations! Is there room for summerball?

After mowing the lawn yesterday, I think we could get a nice, tight summerball court in there.

For the record, summerball is like volleyball, only it's played with those 99-cent plastic balls from the supermarket and you get one ground bounce before having to return service. This allows people who've had a lot to drink to continue playing.

Uh...and which of your ex-wives and her nieces INVENTED summerball, huh? Yeah, you need to give props to the founders of summerball if you are going to mention playing it, sir. Sadly, with a fused spine, my summerball days are over. Blessings to your new home!

Of course you and the nieces will get full founding credit when the history of summerball is written.

Fused spine or not, I hope you'll be there on opening day to lob the first plastic ball and sing our national anthem.
