Despite low ratings and a somewhat bleak assessment about the show's future from NBC's head of entertainment, Variety reported yesterday that NBC Universal is trying to keep Austin-filmed Friday Night Lights on the air for a third season via a shared broadcast window agreement with other networks in addition to NBC.
Whatever happens, I can’t imagine FNL will ever get any non-DVR traction as long as it’s airing on Friday night. I’ve never missed an episode, but I’ve never watched an episode live, either.
