At least they can so long as they don't upset their corporate parents too much.Greghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11405802203511133041noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9982236.post-30167392765322460802009-08-04T16:31:00.143-05:002009-08-04T16:31:00.143-05:00I thought the O'Reilly/Olbermann fued actually...I thought the O'Reilly/Olbermann fued actually exhibited some the best attributes of journalism, of a type type that's sadly become more the exception than the rule. Olbermann's claims of O'Reilly's prevarication generated direct responses to them, specious as they were, and O'Reilly's pointing out parent company GE's diddling in Iran and other hostile countries is totally fair game. People can judge the responses for themselves. O'Reilly responds with weak-kneed venom, NBC responds with marching orders from upstairs, and people can judge those outcomes for themselves. That GE and Murdoch decided to bury the hatchet at the executive level says more about their true intentions than it does about these two pundits' journalistic skills.Patrickhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06226149195336850156noreply@blogger.com
